About Me
I have practiced martial arts for nearly 40 years, learning from sensational teachers and masters. Qigong has been a part of my life for 18 years and yoga for 22. These arts are a part of me as much as breathing. I have a deep respect for the concepts behind the many forms of qigong and yoga. Understanding the concepts within the forms allows my students to practice to a deeper level, meaning they derive greater health benefits.
My mindful movement practices inform my profession as a Physiotherapist. I have worked extensively with patients and clients who have had acute, chronic, and lifelong pathologies. Depending on need I may utilise Somatics, Pilates, acupuncture, Reiki, yoga, qigong, tai chi, massage, meditation, manual and exercise therapy.
I am undertaking a research PhD on using co-production techniques with underserved communities. This aims to increase their engagement in physical activity to improve outcomes in their physical, psychological and social domains of well-being. This extensive research allows me to engage with the latest science and cutting edge theories on how practices such as qigong, yoga, tai chi, and meditative movement can heal.
Ultimately, my aim through the above practices is to help you find the power to heal from within.

What is Qigong?
About Qigong
Qigong is an ancient Eastern practice that has been developed for healing the body, mind and emotions. The magic is in the name. Qi’ means energy and ‘gong means cultivation or work. Hence Qigong means to work with, or cultivate ones energy.
I have seen and heard real life anecdotes of people successfully using Qigong to stave of disease, heal enough to not require surgery and many other feats that defy scientists and clinicians. This may not be the outcome for everyone who undertakes to learn about this stunning art, yet it leans into the potential power of this incredible art form.
So what can you expect from qigong? You can expect to breathe better, to move with more ease, to have a clearer, less agitated mind and to feel more connected to nature and those around you.
Below are some of the forms I became certified in to teach:
5 Element Qigong – White Tiger School
8 Trigram Organ Qigong – White Tiger School

Yoga with Leon
About
Leon is a Contemporary Yoga 200-hr trained Yoga Teacher. Inspired and taught by the remarkable Donna Farhi, Karla Brodie, Neal Ghoshal, and Haidee Stairmand, Leon teaches a vinyasa flow style yoga class that may include elements of witchery, qigong and somatics. What you will learn is how to tap into your inner power and release stagnant energy from your physical, energetic, emotional, and mental being.
The philosophy behind the practice is to feel and connect. Breathe, flow and move as your body, mind and soul becomes a conduit for energy to flow like a powerful wave. Give yourself the freedom to move how you want to move on the mat.
